Exploring the Cosmic Dance of Existence
Written on
Chapter 1: The Motion of Existence
In a world constantly in flux,
Spinning, spinning
Am I the focal point?
Spinning, spinning
In a slow dance of time,
with a guiding star at the core,
the notion of self seems plausible,
as if I embody the essence of everything;
relativity bends around me,
while the cosmos revolves,
spinning, spinning.
How deceptive a mere image can be.
The antithesis of self is awe.
Ponder the reality that everything is dynamic, racing through the cosmos,
Spinning, spinning
Life’s forces, too incredible to fathom, have shaped who I am.
I claim no credit for the most brilliant ideas I might conceive,
as all is a blessing to me...
my active mind a heritage of intertwined chromosomes,
DNA swirling,
Neurons sparked during my grandparents' first encounter.
Their light ignites my being.
The wheels of the bicycle gliding through our quaint town
Spinning, spinning
The record player guiding them into joyful dance, both upright and in shadows.
Spinning, spinning
I was woven into existence.
Consider that I share identical DNA,
the same cosmic dust,
the same elemental makeup as you, yet I am not you.
So near, yet so distinct.
And we orbit around one another
Spinning, spinning
Debating who is right and wrong, who emerges victorious, who faces defeat,
Who is elevated, who is diminished.
Eyes locked, waiting for one to yield,
We engage in a struggle akin to a carousel
Spinning, spinning
Why do we entertain conflict when our shared survival hinges on our bond?
Hold on, hold on tightly, my brother
Hold on, hold on tightly, my sister
Anchor ourselves, lest our grip falters and we soar untethered into the cosmos
Spinning, spinning.
What if I could construct a spacecraft, propelling it through the void?
Would I incite jealousy in a star?
Cosmic dust,
Spinning, spinning
like the asteroid that looms in ominous headlines,
threatening to collide with our world,
altering life as we perceive it.
I am the asteroid, racing through the abyss.
My downfall lies within,
There’s no need to rely on a mightier foe.
No need to seek a darker adversary.
I stand vigilant against external foes,
Yet the most formidable enemy resides within
My arrogance
weaves the fabric
Spinning, spinning
of my own demise.
Could humility be the salvation of society?
A readiness to express, “I don’t know”
An acknowledgment, “I lack the answers”
Understanding that culture, family, communication, and faith are
Spinning, spinning
more rapidly than we can grasp or manage.
We all harbor fears.
And it’s completely natural to be afraid.
Was the star anxious before it burst?
Did a divine presence murmur reassurance,
“Fear not, little star, I have a great mission for you!”
We are born from the explosion and eternal movement,
so minute, yet so extraordinary,
Bipedal specks of sentient life traversing
a blue marble enveloped by the universe,
spinning, spinning.
Why do I exist?
What purpose do I serve?
The grand inquiry.
The resolution demands a shift in perspective,
not I, but We.
