As I delved into discussions about sustainability, I felt inspired to compile and share a selection of fascinating articles that resonate with me. Through this effort, I hope to contribute to a more sustainable world while enriching my own journey. This newsletter will be published weekly on Thursdays.

Section 1.1: New Developments in Sustainability
If the New York Fashion Act receives approval, around 200 international fashion retailers will need to comply with new sustainability regulations, prompting a reevaluation of their ESG strategies worldwide. The state’s goal is to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 85% by the year 2050. We need to see similar initiatives adopted globally. [Read more here](#)
In a commendable move, Continental has announced that it is the first tire manufacturer to produce recycled polyester yarn from PET plastic bottles on a large scale. [Read more here](#)
Bank of America plans to produce all plastic debit cards using at least 80% recycled materials by 2023. This initiative, affecting 54 million consumer and commercial cards issued each year, will lead to a reduction of over 235 tons of single-use plastic. We’re witnessing exciting growth in climate-focused software startups, which are rapidly scaling up and attracting larger investments. In fact, 27 companies listed on Crunchbase have collectively raised over $640 million, with more than half of that amount coming in 2022 alone. [Read more here](#)
Central Park is set to transform into a scientific laboratory dedicated to climate change research. Scientists will investigate seasonal variations and how local flora and fauna adapt to shifting weather patterns. I anticipate seeing more such initiatives in the future. [Read more here](#)

Two of my passions—wine and sustainability—collide in an intriguing article about Planet of the Grapes, a French company that creates leather from the waste generated during wine production.
