Unlocking Your Potential: Embracing Change Post-Pandemic

Written on

Chapter 1: The Shift in Our Reality

As we approach the end of 2022 on the Jewish calendar with Rosh Hashana from September 25th to 27th, it’s clear that the last four years have brought about significant transformations. While the American New Year begins with celebrations on January 1st, 2023, and the Chinese New Year follows on January 22nd, we all feel the impactful changes that have reshaped our lives.

The year 2022 has been filled with unpredictability, marking a pivotal moment in the narrative of America as we know it. The continuous wave of changes has established what many now refer to as the new normal. Isn't it fascinating to experience the highs and lows of capitalism in America?

Consider the dramatic fluctuations in cryptocurrency, the political scandals, and the ongoing saga surrounding Brittany Griner. The world is filled with constant events, not to mention our individual challenges. Yet, as a collective, we must continue to uplift and inspire each other to strive for greatness.

"In the minds of geniuses, we find once more our own neglected thoughts." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Imagine searching "Tap into Your Greatness" online and finding over 200 million pieces of content. That would certainly create a sense of confusion! In my view, the pandemic has altered our perceptions of the societal structures we live in. This structure, which I refer to as "the Matrix," represents the various illusions perpetuated by the capitalist system.

In this capitalist landscape, numerous illusions exist—fame, wealth, scandal, and elitism, to name a few. While I’m not an economics professor, I can assert that navigating a pandemic fundamentally revolves around economic realities.

If you’re reading this with an open heart, commend yourself for not succumbing to the false sense of security that overshadows genuine stability. The pandemic exposed the vulnerabilities within America’s framework. The response? A distribution of trillions of dollars to maintain a façade of security, even as the system's flaws became glaringly apparent.

No Accidents in the Universe

Your survival is a reason to be grateful. While many faced dire circumstances due to COVID-19, you adapted, pivoted, and made the best of your situation. You returned to work, endured personal challenges, and continued to serve others despite your struggles.

Now is the time to tap into your greatness by fully engaging with the present. By reading this article, you are investing in your future and preparing to assist others. I write from a place of personal experience, hoping to illuminate how fortunate we truly are.

Reflect on your growth over the past year. Do the challenges you faced a year ago still hold sway over you? For me, they do not. Gradually, I have moved forward, creating a supportive environment that fosters inner peace.

At this juncture, it’s crucial to align your morals, values, and economic understanding with future aspirations. This means rejuvenating economic growth and assisting loved ones with their pressing needs.

However, we must also acknowledge that the post-pandemic reality is simply a reflection and intensification of pre-existing issues.

The Laws of Power

According to Law #48 in "The 48 Laws of Power," we should "Assume Formlessness." This principle encourages us to visualize an ideal scenario, develop a clear plan, and remain receptive to the changes that emerge from this awareness.

In essence, our response to crisis should be rooted in adaptability and fluidity, embracing the unknown. I appreciate this principle because it invites self-acceptance and enables me to operate from a mindset of abundance.

Post-pandemic growth entails confronting life's uncertainties directly. It’s about recognizing that nothing is guaranteed and that it’s acceptable to dismiss the doubt expressed by others. Embracing formlessness means learning to flow like water.

Given that change is an inevitable part of life, we must learn to distinguish between what is visible and what is not. Stability may elude us at times, but that’s not inherently negative; sometimes we must act from a place of unknowing (our creative selves).

The most challenging aspect of this shift from routine is accepting that we can only function from the unseen, or that circumstances may never align with our expectations, as there are greater forces at play.

Defeating the Illusion

What you perceive through your natural senses can often be misleading. Yes, you are blessed, successful, and your endeavors are thriving. Yet, there are obstacles ahead that may not be immediately visible.

Consider this journey as a quest, and take inspiration from Paramahansa Yogananda, who stated that “seclusion is the price of greatness.”

A wonderful way to begin tapping into your greatness in 2023 is to dedicate time to reflection, contemplation, and seeking joy despite external circumstances. Remember, all difficult paths lead to beautiful destinations.

When I refer to tapping into your greatness, I mean a personal transformation that transcends the external noise we encounter in our daily lives.

Until Next Time...
