# My Perfect 10 with a Side of Food Allergies

Chapter 1: The Allure of My Perfect Partner
My girl is a true gem—intelligent, beautiful, and kind-hearted. However, there's a hitch: her persistent food allergies.
Her beauty is undeniable. Picture a masterpiece, not the chaotic strokes of Pollock, but more akin to the serene landscapes of Monet or the vibrant blooms of Georgia O'Keeffe. With captivating eyes and luxurious hair, she epitomizes attractiveness. Despite being a perfect "10," her food restrictions pose quite the challenge.
I love to flaunt her, but dining out becomes a puzzle. When I suggest grabbing dinner, she’s quick to respond with her needs: "They must have gluten-free and dairy-free options." Thus begins my quest to scour the internet for menus that suit her dietary limitations. After considerable searching, I may find a suitable place, but she often counters with, "I’m not in the mood for that" or "It’s too far," or "Jason said it was terrible." Eventually, we run out of time, and she’s prepared a low FODMAP meal, sipped her designated wine, and retreated to her room to chat with Jason. Curse these food allergies!
I genuinely empathize with her struggles, yet they often leave me feeling deprived of indulging in the foods she can’t tolerate. Just the other day at a baseball game, I treated myself to a giant helmet of nachos. When I casually remarked, "These nachos are surprisingly good," she shot back, "Must be nice," sulking at my enjoyment. The stadium had little to offer her except peanuts, which I insisted were a baseball staple—perhaps a true experience. Before I knew it, she stormed off, returning with her own nachos, devouring them in mere seconds to prove a point. This ended poorly as she quickly became ill, and we departed before the 5th inning. Luckily, Jason from her IBS support group was there, fortuitously seated nearby. He always knows just what to say to comfort her.
Chapter 2: The Future of Our Culinary Adventures
We’ve been discussing the prospect of moving in together, a significant leap forward. However, I can’t shake the worry about how our meals would work. Who will bend first in terms of dietary preferences? If she’s gluten- and dairy-free, will I have to adhere to the same restrictions? Jason has also been accompanying us on apartment viewings, which has proven invaluable as he asks all the right questions during our tours. At times, his inquiries feel like he’s planning to move in too. I can’t imagine navigating this journey without him.
My girl is truly remarkable—intelligent, beautiful, and deeply compassionate, but her food allergies are an ongoing battle. She might eat something without issue one day, only to suffer immensely the next time. The more she dwells on her digestive troubles, the worse it tends to get. During these challenging moments, she often turns to Jason, sometimes staying at his place for extended periods to "get her gut right."
Ultimately, I recognize that my girl is worth it, so I’m committed to embracing the IBS community, navigating the challenges of dietary restrictions, and adapting to a more bland lifestyle. Currently, she and Jason are attending an exclusive IBS conference in Hawaii for a couple of weeks. I couldn’t find much information about it online, which adds to its mystique.
Despite her food allergies, my girl is a perfect 10, and she has me by her side. Not to mention, there’s Jason, too!
