A poignant insight from an Archangel struck a chord with me:
There is no disgrace in failing or deciding to abandon a goal when it feels unattainable, or when you recognize that your desire to pursue it has faded.

This thought takes me back to my own experience with acting. I had undergone extensive training and had made significant strides in the industry. However, after several years of relentless effort in New York City, I came to the harsh realization that the entertainment world was unforgiving — and I was no longer willing to endure that struggle.
Approaching my 30th birthday, I found myself once again without work and weary of the hand-to-mouth lifestyle that had seemed so glamorous in my twenties. It became evident that I needed to step away from the industry.
But therein lay my dilemma. As a spiritually inclined person, I had embraced the concepts of "The Law of Attraction," which were prevalent even back in 1977. I sincerely believed that with enough patience and sacrifice, I could achieve whatever I desired.
This belief led me to a critical decision: I had to acknowledge that I was no longer prepared to pay the price for what I wanted. What had seemed manageable at 20 felt overwhelming at 30.
This is precisely what I did. When friends expressed their surprise at my departure from acting, I clarified my stance:
“But you see, I didn’t leave acting — I left behind the struggle of unemployment! It’s not that success wasn’t possible, but I was no longer willing to pay that cost.”
It was merely a matter of finding a different path.
I consider this to be a significant life lesson. Don’t you agree?
