Embracing Change: The Journey of Fitness and Self-Discovery

Chapter 1: The Evolution of Fitness
Fitness is not a destination; it evolves as we do.
Imagine Cain, the first man, wandering through time, carrying the weight of his first sin. Sometimes depicted as a tyrannical ruler, other times as a skilled artist or a brave warrior, he embodies constant evolution. He remains ageless, perpetually growing stronger, wiser, and more adept with each passing day.
I often find myself relating to him—not just because of the captivating tale, but who wouldn’t desire the infinite potential of identity? If I were to embody Cain, my week could span from being a Samurai on Monday, to an Olympic skier by midweek, and perhaps a Pope come Sunday.
However, that’s not our reality. Unless, of course, you are Cain reading this right now—thanks for stopping by! Immortals, to the best of my knowledge, are the only beings gifted with unending growth. The rest of us begin our decline the moment we enter this world.
Fortunately, this isn’t entirely grim. In fact, the looming reality of our mortality serves as a guiding force, nudging us to appreciate the gifts each day brings. In essence, you are a different person than you were yesterday.
Sometimes, this is the most uplifting revelation you can receive, while at other times, it may feel disheartening. There are days when you feel worn out, defeated, and burdened by age. This is the crux of it.
We have a choice: we can either accept this reality and strive to counter it with positive actions and habits, or we can succumb to despair. This doesn’t imply you should forget the times you successfully deadlifted 700 pounds in college. Rather, it invites you to acknowledge that those days are behind you and, despite not being able to replicate that feat, you still possess the ability to achieve something meaningful today.
There’s a certain joy in that realization, unless you choose to ignore it. Unless you allow past accomplishments to serve as a crutch for present inaction.
Fitness is an ongoing journey; it doesn’t cease just because we can’t perform at our previous levels. It adapts as we do, but we must be willing to embrace that change—no, we must actively encourage it.
Past accomplishments are merely that—moments captured in time reflecting who you were. When viewed from the right perspective, they motivate us to forge ahead. Not because we will indefinitely grow faster or stronger, but because we once were individuals who dared to try. And that spirit of determination can be reignited.
No matter the circumstances of your day, your history, or how long it has been since you felt at your best, the key lies in effort. Effort is indeed the answer.
In the first video titled "60 Minutes of Burpees | The Effort with Miranda Alcaraz," witness a dynamic workout that emphasizes the relentless pursuit of fitness. This engaging session showcases how continuous effort can lead to remarkable transformations.
Chapter 2: The Spirit of Progress
The second video, "Effort is Progress | Spiritual Discourse by Swami Suddhananda Giri," delves into the philosophical aspects of effort and personal growth. It provides insights on how embracing effort can foster spiritual and emotional resilience in our lives.
